We regret to inform our invited guests that the joint Spring 2010 fashion shows of Luth Garde and Salvacion, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, in Glendale has been canceled, due to an unforeseen family matter. Luthgarda, and her sister, the event planner and manager, Dr. Emy Raval-Ros flew out of the country and was away for almost a month, halting production of the scheduled event. Cancellation notices have been mailed to all invited guests on Monday, October 12.

In lieu of the show, Luth Garde will be mailing its Spring 2010 catalog, featuring pieces from the canceled event. For additional information, please contact Luth Garde @310-384-1124.

The label will be holding trunk shows beginning January 2009 and will hold a small show next LA fashion week around March of next year.

Shot at the beautiful Cerritos Civic Center and Sculpture Garden in California, the model features three looks from the collection, including one necklace piece from the accessories line.

Selina continues to manage the line but has taken a break from designing. She is currently freelancing as an illustrator and design consultant for several apparel brands in California. Another unique set modeled here by Ms Sue. This is from Luth Garde's couture collection line. The fabric is quite unusual - cotton and silk blend net with individual clear sequins hand-sewn all over the fabric. This is custom-ordered exclusively for Luth Garde. It is fab and great for sunny weather! The set glistens under the sun, the sequins twinkling.

The dress is adorned with signature Luth Garde beaded decor, the hem is asymmetrical and always very comfortable.

The cover-up is a modern silhouette, very loose and airy. The back continues to glisten with hand-embroidered pearls and sequins.

Miss Sue, a fabulous friend and favorite client of Luth Garde, flies frequently to Los Angeles. She swears by two designers - Armani and of course, yours truly. Before jetting in town, she phones Luthgarda for her requests - one-of-a-kind, custom short dresses, evening couture pieces and comfortable but stylish easy day separates.

As part of Luth Garde's exclusivity, the designers are more than willing, but also very much enjoy one-on-one fittings with clients. Luth and Selina had a blast meeting with Ms Sue to do a "dress-up" day at her hotel room at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive. The designers helped with styling and planning out Ms Sue's week in town, picking key pieces with her and matching it with shoes and other accessories. Here's a beautiful piece she modeled from the countless fab choices - a gorgeous vintage lace mini dress with matching shawl.

The style was launched by Luthgarda over 6 years ago and has been made various ways-playing with colors, fabric combinations, and length.

The similarities are uncanny and quite eerie actually, as BritneyExclusive.com explains that the "black asymmetrical sequined mini skirt" is "vintage". The outfit is being auctioned with a starting bid of $5000.00 US Dollars.

Above photo: 1981, Luthgarda is pregnant with her third child, Selina. She presents a design showcase in an International Asian Design competition. The weather is getting much warmer. The Luth Garde lace cardi serves the purpose of covering you up when you need it but still keeps you cool - best of all, you don't have to sacrifice form over function. (The Cardi Shrug paired here with the Sky's the Limit cami top)

Constructed with over 5 materials combined, this piece is a work on art. The colors include teals, blues, purples, browns, magentas, oranges and yellows!

The front panels are asymmetrical. You have the option of wearing it over your shoulder or just as is, open in the front.

The back shows off more of these beautiful colors, as well adorned with a paisley sequined decor which anchors the embroidered tulle drape.

Sky blue, lapis, pastel blue...these are colors to watch out for in Spring. This calming color is flattering to almost anyone.

The cami style top has adjustable straps and is made from luxurious nylon. The neckline ties with a set of silk ribbons. The center has a 4" hand-crocheted panel that anchors the wide lace tie. The lace in this is ultra soft and delicate.

One side of the cami top is hand-dyed with accents of ruby reds and purples.

The side shows off more of the beautiful accent colors. The hem is also splashed with olive greens and grays. A great way to accessorize this top - pick from any of the colors within the cami. Wear a ruby red pump, or pick an olive green and purple beaded necklace or bracelet.

Always with balance in design, the other side is quite minimal.

The back is quite a work of art - really hand-painted with great colors and patterns.

A great skirt is hard to find. But with Luth Garde, it is easy with this Bohemian Skirt. No zippers, no darts, this skirt is elasticized at the waist and a simple pull-on. The best feature, it wears like second skin, absolutely light as a feather!

Naturally wrinkled in the Luth Garde fashion, it is ideal to take this piece on vacation - roll it up, stuff it in your luggage and forget about it! Wear it in the summer with great silver thongs, or wear dark brown boots for a trendy look.

The skirt has an asymmetrical hem that hits just around mid-calf. Every angle shows off a beautifully executed drape. The mesh layers are hand-dyed in mostly coco browns - accented at the hem with ivories, fuschias and teal blues. It has ties around the side of the waist - providing you custom fit.

The top mesh layer is jeweled with a 20's inspired applique with mini clear beads and silver embroidery

One side of the skirt is a strong splash of the colors at the hem.

The back in no less ethereal. It is also adorned with the 20s applique.

The other side view has more of the coco brown for balance, but is adorned again, with the beautiful decor.

After a wonderful two and a half years on 3rd st, Luth Garde is moving to a new and improved location. The company would like to find a space that will be suitable for our loyal customers, as well as one that will showcase our merchandise in a more casual environment. Don't worry! We will continue to house our designs here in Los Angeles, around the Hollywood area. We will send updates as soon as we settle in and provide you with the new address.

But the fashion never stops! Please stop by the showroom now to avail of our moving sale. We would like to take as little merchandise to our new location as possible! Everything will be marked 40-60% off! We officially close our 3rd street showroom doors on April 7th, 2009.

One of Luth Garde's long-time designs and a truly unique one at that - the super long, super fantasy-filled and super colorful scarf.

For a while, this original design was sold exclusively in Tokyo at http://www.ballroom.jp/ with amazing variations. Some scarves were hooded, some lace-y at the center (so it drapes like a hankie) and all of them, loved by women and yes, even some fashion-daring men. Our scarf customers wear them almost daily, year-round, to the point of tater! We get a lot of calls from these loyal Luth Garde scarf-ers to duplicate or update their beloved pieces. (And we gladly do!)
Despite this items' simple function, Luth Garde does not hold back on unique design and coloring. The body is usually in a textured, warm fabric. This turquoise one is in a zigzag float pattern.

The center piece and ends are floated with beautiful colors - usually 4-5 variations in one design. The flowerettes come to life with these distinct hues.

Filipina women from Ilokos(hometown of both designers) weaving baskets and purses from banana stalks. These patterns inspire Luth Garde designs and have been applied to Abel fabrics.

Ilokana woman weaving Jusi, which is from organic Pineapple fiber - Luth Garde uses this native fabric as a core staple in our designs.

We are optimistic for Spring - we picture aviator shades, feathers adorning the hair, sandals with leather fringes and beads, multi-layered bangles and of course - to complete this modern hippie look, Luth Garde's Red Global Ensemble piece.

A soft ethnic tee in cotton, with beaded fringe on the front neckline and the back, inset with ethnic, hand-woven fabric.

The skirt is nothing short of fantastic. Shaped by a multi-colored petticoat that slightly peaks from the hem, each side of the skirt is as important as the front.

The skirt's left panel is in beautiful silver lurex/cotton blend, it shimmers in the light. One panel decorated with beaded rope from India, and authentic Silver coins from an Afghan costume.

The skirt is belted with the Abel fabric from the Philippines - bind it at the waist for a great top control, or twist it into a braid shown below.

As Hollywood goes into awards season - let's reminisce some notable moments.

Who could forget Johnny Depp's long-time partner, french superstar Vanessa Paradis' red carpet appearance during the Critic's Choice Awards in Beverly Hills almost 4 years ago? It was a shock to many to see her wear, an "unknown" designer for this event, despite her contract with Chanel. She was photographed by every tabloid and high fashion magazine out there. She even got a write-up about how unique her style is on Elle magazine and labeled her ensemble as "vintage".

Deep Berry Pre-Spring Short Dress

The perfect transitional little dress from Winter to Pre-Spring with of-course, a matching lil shrug in soft, high quality velour, which by the way, absorbs colors like no other fabric! This long sleeve cover-up is also perfect to wear over a tank or tee with jeans, or with that classic black dress you already own. Attached to the shrug is a 5" wide drapey scarf in embroidered mesh.

From Luth Garde's Pre-spring 2009 Couture Collection, a fabulous mini bra dress in black and gold, with a matching shrug in lurex sweater material. The applique in detail is hand-woven from Luth Garde's vintage fabric collection, of Japanese origins. Each hefty gold thread is applied on the silk chiffon with a stop stitch. A true work-of-art, the dragon detail is all the accessory you will need...but also great with a pair of over-the-knee boots or gold stilettoes.

Using Luth Garde's signature draping, this mini dress is made out of silk rayon jersey and nylon mesh. The bra foundation is covered by 4 inch custom made elastic ribbon, then appliqued with gold decorations to compliment the dragon design.
